Stop it

Today my dalmatian Loki came in smelling like he had rolled in poop.   I was like wow that's tragic.

Then I was alerted to a mom that's a blogger that got so much hate mail and nasty comments when she guest posted that she nearly shut down her own blog.

inconceivable?  not in blog land.

Then I was told about the mom who had lost her baby and was being bullied and tortured with people even calling the coroner and arranging a protest at the funeral for her baby.

Why?

a choice.  both of them a choice.

Neither of these woman made hateful, mean or malicious choices, but instead chose to express their right to love and parent in the matter that was their own.  Yet they were both attacked.  Virtually time and time again.

I remember the time someone made ugly comments about a preemie baby who had passed as a toddler.
The entire internet blew up supporting this family.  Through their grief they created an amazing legacy for their little one.

Here's my thing,  what caliber person do you have to be to spew hate, anger, righteousness, and your way or no way thinking?  You fight for acceptance yet you do such wretched things I literally gag when I see the shit you spew.  Stop your screaming from the rooftops for the rights and freedoms of the group de jour.
And be a freaking human.   I am disgusted with people right now not all of them, and I certainly will not go around leaving nasty comments on their blogs.

So STOP IT damn it.

We are so busy fighting and arguing , enforcing our soap boxes, that we forgot the golden rule.  Treat others as you wish to be treated.   No labels just be humane to each other.

Read another post on the subject  over at  Holly's  http://www.midwesternmamah.blogspot.com
I consider her a real friend, even though we have never met ( that we know of)  and we do disagree on many things,  Respectfully.  Because we are grown ups, and have more in common than we have differences.

here's a little diddy for you-  the word bigot is defined asa prejudiced person who is intolerant of any opinions differing from his own.

Who exactly is showing intolerance?

Some people grow up, and some just get older. These adult cyber bullies and haters are the ones who got older but remained mentally stunted.

i don't know the specifics of the stories you mention in your post but i did find my way to you from Holly's blog. i couldn't agree more. my gramm always says, and i still believe it to be one of the best pieces of advise around: if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all. we're not all going to agree on EVERYTHING and some people are very stuck in their ways. so be it, but don't harrass others who follow a different school of thought than you.

ps - completely unrelated but i LOVE your signature "peach out".

@ Holly- as usual. you rock. people have to stop defending their belief system so hard that they hurt others, we have to be able to disagree and share.

@ Steff- glad you stopped by. Your Gramm was a smart chickie. and just for you XO - PEACH OUT

I'm with you 100%. Civility and humanity will go a long way. Found you via Holly. Proud of you for taking a stand.

Mami- Thanks for stopping by. Holly can put it across so there is not question on her stand point. She's pretty awesome. I just hate to see anyone pushed to the point it affects their life.

Great post with a very terrific message. I know, I don't get the madnesss either. I think people are so desensitized nowadays and don't realize how much words can and do hurt.

My message is just that bullying, racism, bigotry is not a one way street and if people aren't careful their cause will become lost and they will become the things they are fighting against.

It's so easy for anyone to tweet, facebook or blog and do so with passion hit the publish button and think it's over. I humor blog, I offend equally across the board. But bullying is so wrong. so so wrong.

Hi Peachy! I'm here from Mama H's. Kudos to you (and to her!) for speaking out against the bullying! I'll be posting on it myself tonite or tomorrow!

Holly is much better at getting her point across. And even though we differ on many things we agree to respect each other, laugh with each other and cry with each other.
The fundamental beliefs that you should not be a total jerk to another human is common.

Although it seems pretty god damn simple; getting along, accepting each other, even when there are differences, and, pure and simple, just being nice to one another, the intolerance is not surprising. Look at the shit that goes on with the men and women that lead this country, my city, our counties.

I will continue blogging, and sometimes spew on about ignorance and stupidity. I do it because I have fun and want to express myself in such a way that seems fit to my needs, not others.

Stay the course, yet attack stupid people (bullies) whenever the chance arises, and if they don't like it, come on over big boy, and I'll shove those snaggled teeth of yours down your hate filled mouth of yours.

WHOA! That felt good!

LMAO! Does that last comment make me a bully?

they way I look at it is. Either be offensive/humorous and in poor taste to EVERYONE If you can't say nothing nice at least have the decency to be vague LOL

Well, even though I would absolutely freak my shit if you and Holly showed up at my door (IN A GOOD WAY), so you already know this...
I LOVE YOU.
Well said, hon.

Unknown Miami made mention of this post on her blog today and I am so thankful she did. I see and hear about this cyber bullying and it just blows me away. We are suppose to be adults writing and reading these blogs yet there are some that refuse to grow up and act like adults. Why can't people just click the little X up in the corner if they don't like something they read? Or at least say something with respect. I surely don't expect everyone to agree with everything I say or write but I do expect respect.

Great post. More of need to be taking a stand like this!
